Our NDIS Community Nursing Service
NDIS Participants in a program that provides community nursing care get instruction on how to properly care for themselves in a variety of settings, including medication management, the treatment of wounds, personal cleanliness, and assistance with washing or dressing. In most cases, a registered nurse or a medical practitioner will be designated to keep track of the patient’s progress and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan and drug dosage.
Community Nursing Care is provided to participants who have complex individual support needs that are best met by someone with medical training and experience in dealing with complex health issues.
Each NDIS participant who has community nursing care included in their support plan with us is assigned a medical staff person who will stay in contact to discuss, monitor, and offer feedback on the participant’s medication, treatments, and progress. This medical staff member will also maintain track of the participant’s development.
